Here’s a peek at the highlights from Apple’s recent event on 14 September 2021 and what we’ll be adding to our wish list following the latest announcements…

The introduction of seven new products was hardly low-key; with four new iPhone models, two new iPads and the updated Apple Watch we’ve got plenty to look forward to and there’s just enough to tempt users to upgrade.

iPhone 13

Apple is introducing four new phones with prices comparable to the 12 series, the 13 series features upgraded and improved camera with bigger sensors to let in more light, the world’s fastest smartphone chip, and improved battery life.

The 13 Pro and Pro Max see more substantial leaps with improved telephoto lenses plus 120Hz ProMotion displays that adjust their refresh rate for a smoother and more immersive experience.

Available in silver, gold, graphite and our personal favourite sierra blue.  Check it out at https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone-13-pro/

Apple Watch 7

Apple’s new generation Watch is dropping later this year with a bigger, brighter screen, thinner display borders, ‘always on’ retina display and faster charging (sadly though not longer battery life).

Available in five colours with a crack-resistant / water resistant /dust resistant display this watch is one tough cookie. Subscription offers for Apple Fitness+ and the added health benefits such as being able to take an ECG at anytime make this watch a true all rounder.

iPad 9

Apple’s standard iPad gets an A13 Bionic processor, an improved 12MP front camera that encompasses the Center Stage feature and better low-light photography.

iPad mini 6

Apple’s smallest iPad sees its first update since 2019, with a new edge-to-edge display and Touch ID button similar to the upgrades Apple introduced with the iPad Air. Center Stage video and Apple Pencil support is included in this model.

iOS 15

There’s a real bundle of new stuff and improvements in iOS 15; from audio and video enhancements with FaceTime, the new ‘Shared with You’ and ‘Focus’ (notifications) features, a redesigned version of Maps with 3D city experiences and AR walking directions. The new ‘Live Text’ uses in-built device intel to recognise text in photos across the entire system and web. New privacy controls in Siri and Mail offer greater peace of mind and control over your data. Available on your device now!

Rumours the next event and raft of announcements could be coming soon (12th October) and we hope to see some news about MacBooks and the new AirPods. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on everything new!
